The largest thatched barn in England. The Abbey of St Peter was a Benedictine Monastery founded in the 11th century by King Canute's steward Orc and his wife Thola. Edward The Confessor, successor to Canute was impressed by the Abbey, and granted Orc all rights to the Fleet Lagoon.
